Stephen King movies have become a title that fills me with dread, after seeing this movie. As this is a dystopian title, surely that is a good thing.
The wrong type of dread. So you get a book and changed everything about it. 100 people walk in the book, 50 people in the movie Ray has a girlfriend in the book, in the movie, nothing. No one has anyone. A major character, Scramm is left out completely. He is the best character and married. The reason why it is scary is that everyone who you want to succeed meets an untimely end. In this movie, you want everyone to die as they are so annoying.
It is really cheaply made. It had a budget of 20 million? It looks like 2 million was spent on it.
The one thing in the plot we did not need to see? Men defecating on screen. This is left in, but the domestic violence sub-plot is left out?
Wait for this one to come out on pay per view and watch it for 99 cents or you will feel cheated.

I wanted to like this movie. It is beautifully shot but ends up like a kitchen sink drama. Two people stuck in a house, but one of them is possessed by a witch. It is more like witch torture porn. If you like seeing women suffer for no reason, this is the movie for you. If you are female you might like the two strong female leads, but I needed more action, something which this movie is lacking.
