Forget Blur and Oasis, Pulp were and are the abiding masters of Britpop - and this oddity goes some way to showing why.
Filmed in a cave under strange (covid-affected) circumstances, this "show of the album" is beautifully shot, with great lighting effects and nice sound. The whole band looks engaged but the man himself is clearly in his element - displaying deceptive quiet genius in a manner similar to his occasional and great "Wireless Nights" radio shows - an unlikely but enduring star presence.
Recommended.

I've been meaning to see this for a long time, but for the usual reasons not quite made it.
As a big fan of Ozon's 2003 effort (not really the same film at all, even if "inspired by...") but very underwhelmed by "A Bigger Splash", I am relieved to say that this classic is much better than the latter, in my view.
As others have noted, Schneider and Delon make a great "beautiful people" couple - but with issues just waiting to erupt - which they do with the arrival of Harry and his daughter. For me, Birkin is the weak link here, as at this point she really can't act (or speak French without an English twang) and (frankly) looks a lot less attractive than Schneider. However, as the film makes clear, Delon does not make a play for her because she's "prettier than" Schneider, but for a complex host of other reasons.
Ultimately, a film about ennui, life failing to match up to expectations and the quietly desperate existential search for meaning.
Great stuff.
