I went into this movie blind making sure I missed the hype, previews and reviews. I wanted it to be just me and the movie.
The premise was good, refreshing and original. The angle of storytelling fit the movie and kept you intrigued.
The characters were sufficiently defined and Amy Madigan is outstanding in her role. I think she deserves an oscar nom.
My issue is that towards the end, the movie loses its way and the mystery is underwhelming. I expected something more brilliant after all the build up.
Instead it turns comical and ends abruptly.
Kudos to the writres and producers for trying something new but I've seen television series end more powerfully.
I honestly left saying 'wth' at the end.

It was refreshing to see this type of humor again and how well it has been received. That being said the movie was solid but lacked the silliness and lightheartedness of the original.
Liam Neeson's performance is solid because he is a good actor but it's not believable. Felt like Liam Neeson playing a character without totally embodying Frank Drebin. He makes it worth nonetheless and has good support from Pamela Anderson who did well in the role.
It stands on its own merit but if compared to the original Naked Gun franchise it just misses the pizazz of the original.
