An investigation was launched after seven babies died at a hospital; nurse Lucy Letby was famously charged with murder.
This documentary had me gripped and made me feel rather uncomfortable. Someone said that they would have happily been the one to press the button or pull the lever. When I was following this on the news and heard the conviction, I would have done the same!
If I ever end up on trial for anything, can I ask that I don't get Lucy's defense counsel? They seem to have thrown her under a bus! Talk about incompetence of the highest order; they apparently didn't offer much of a defence.
I arrived beforehand with limited knowledge, thinking that Lucy was clearly guilty and that the British judicial system got it right; I came away with a very different mindset.
One thing that could have been explored is what has been going on at the neonatal unit since she left. As a documentary, it does its job incredibly well; it makes you stop and think and question what you thought you knew.
I think there's more to come.

American student Walter Elbertson heads to Spain for a bit of culture and to get out from under his father's feet. While there, he meets and falls for Isla Fisher, a prim British spinster who's a few years older than Walter.
It's such a good film! How wonderful that TPTV put it on; it is genuinely as good as I'd hoped. If you're a fan of the late, great Maggie Smith, I'd suggest you will love this.
The humour works very well, with a lot of culture clash jokes and misunderstandings galore, it's particularly dry. It's such a simple tale: a young guy falls in love with an older girl in the Spanish sun, but it's all the little intricacies that make it work.
There's the humour, the devastatingly sad twist, the glorious visuals, and two brilliant performances. Dame Maggie could do no wrong in my eyes, and as you'd expect, she's phenomenal. Lila is so complex; you definitely get the sense of a troubled but guarded woman with very little life experience. Timothy Bottoms is super as the adventurous young American.
I would definitely recommend it.

Jessica travels to Ireland for the reading of the will of a man she once saved. Jessica is left a cottage; however, the Byrne family aims to challenge her bequest. The family must unite to find a missing treasure.
It's the final case for Jessica Fletcher, and I think the show bows out on a high. It's a really fine mystery.
It's atmospheric, suspenseful, definitely an intriguing mystery, and, of course, we've got a treasure hunt and Jessica wandering around a graveyard in the middle of the night. What could be better?
Finally, after so many Irish-set episodes, the show actually gets to the beautiful island. I know chunks were filmed in L. A., but some of this is authentic; it benefits from the location work.
One or two of the accents are a little hit and miss; compared to some accents, the glorious tones of Inspector O'Dwyer make it easy to see who's putting on an accent.
Lansbury, as ever, is delightful; she did a grand job. I only hope that if it returns under a new guise, justice is given to her and the show, it's legacy lives on.
