  • A decent episode.

Drug pusher and lover of classical music, Henry Ellis, sends Raynor to do a drug deal on board a boat at sea. Unfortunately for Raynor, Ellis's right-hand man, Tate, has switched the cash.

It's a bit of a comedy caper episode; it's perhaps the weakest entry in the series. It's not bad as such; it has some interest, but as a viewer, you're made to believe too many random occurrences-it's too much.

Raynor, of course, gets to show off his sheer genius. I liked the ending. Does this mean that the final episode is a continuation of the story?

The main interest comes from Raynor's mate with the bike; he does add some interest as you're keen to learn about his involvement.

The music is horrendous; it's too loud and overbearing. If only they had turned it down a little bit. There's a difference between effective and deafening.

Ken Hutchinson and Christopher Fulford were both excellent, but once again, without any doubts, it's Leslie Grantham who steals the show.

    6/10.

  • Best episode so far.

Raynor is tasked with helping to spring known criminal Hicks from custody at a funeral; he's then required to keep the old rogue out of trouble. The question on everyone's mind is, where did Hicks stash £2 million?

Perhaps the strongest episode so far, it's a cracking storyline with good characters, Raynor's further development, and a fairly shocking ending that has an almighty twist. We really are learning about the tightrope that Raynor has to walk; very often he's overstepping the mark.

Derek Newark was starting to wind down at this late stage in his career; he'd make just one more guest appearance on The Bill, but he's still terrific as the one-time tough nut.

Charlotte definitely developed as a character here; this time she really did become a part of the action. Gwyneth Strong is excellent here, so well known for her role as Cassandra, but adept at comedy and drama.

It's definitely a series that you need to watch if you can get your hands on a copy; Leslie Grantham is excellent in it.

    8/10.

  • It's quite a watchable series.

This was a rather enjoyable, low-budget series. It's the kind of show I'd never watch on terrestrial television, but would happily binge-watch on Netflix, and I did.

Please go in with moderate expectations; it's not exactly sharp. You can tell it's been made on a shoestring budget, and you'll see a lot of repetition.

I was aware of some of the stories, but many of them I had never heard of. For me, the most remarkable story is that of Caroline Grills, the Australian granny whose ability to poison people was even used on police officers who spoke to her.

It's well narrated in that she has a particularly nice voice, which is pleasing; at times, the narration is a little over the top, but it works.

I liked that the stories are quite punchy-two per episode-so it doesn't drag on. It's a shame we don't hear interviews from the people involved.

    7/10.
