Normally I'd rate this move 7-8/10, but in this case I gave it a 10, mainly to annoy the bad reviewers,. What is wrong with some people I'd like to ask, but then, I realize that there will always be people who aren't capable of seeing the obvious beauty of things. This is a well acted, very contemplative and often surreal little gem. The cinematography is crafty, so is the soundtrack.. It leaves space for thoughts and impresses on not so obvious levels, like the downbeat character of the story.
Really don't mind cheap entertainment at all and I watch a lot of that stuff. What I like? MacGyver is actually quite upbeat and funny on occasion. So it pefectly runs next to my mindless evening routines. I never pay much attention to the story, so it's basically Musak in the background.
and to put off the haters of Aftermath I give it a 10/10, even though I would normally give it a 5. I am sure that I am not the only one who likes cheap Sci-Fi. In large parts the acting is bad, really bad and so is the editing, which makes the acting even look worse. I am convinced that the writers are emotionally unbalanced if not unstable or they write the scripts stoned or drunk. Maybe it is much simpler and M. Night Shyamalan wrote the whole show under 11 different pseudonyms - on his mobile phone. But who cares. The show is a mindless ride with a story made up from scratch with no depth to it. Something I watch next to other things I do. Did I mention that I like cheap shows and crappy movies?
