faiz-can's rating
One of the worst movies I've ever seen. The plot was incredibly weak. It felt like they added the demon/horror elements at the last minute without revising the script. The movie started as one genre and halfway through, it awkwardly shifted to another, and not for the better. The plot was nonsensical, and there was no effort put into character development. The only notable actor was Peter Dinklage, who I imagine regrets being part of this film. It was supposed to be a comedy, but it didn't even make me smile.
My advice: Don't watch this movie, no matter what! The ratings are totally misleading.

When I watched the trailer, I thought it would be similar to "The Prestige" and "The Illusionist" (both of which I loved). Magic and illusions themed movies always fascinate me, and that was half of my reason for watching this movie. The other half was the strong cast, including Morgan Freeman, Jesse Eisenberg, Mark Ruffalo, Woody Harrelson, and Isla Fisher.
While it doesn't reach the heights of "The Prestige" and "The Illusionist," it's still a good movie. It starts off very strongly and grabs your attention immediately. However, as the plot unfolds, it turns out to be average-not bad, but not as great as I had hoped.
As an illusion-based movie, it keeps the viewer confused for most of the time, only revealing the answers at the end. The acting is good, though the character development is weak. Despite this, the movie entertains until the very last scene.
