Sohail Anjum has over 25 years experience as a photojournalist and 10 yearsâ€™ experience in film and television. He currently leads the acquisitions of short films for South Asia at Shorts TV as well as managing the Best of India Short Film Festival, which helps to give selected filmmakers a chance at Oscar qualification. In the last three years of managing the festival, Sohail has managed to watch over 6000+ short film submissions.

In his previous content acquisition role at ICFLIX, he oversaw strategy for Hindi, English and foreign language films, and TV series. Here, he negotiated license agreements and managed key relationships with regional and international major and independent studios, content providers and filmmakers.

Murder, mystery and lots of Suspense!

A well directed with excellent quality production to come out of Egypt. After conducting some research, I learnt that it was ICFLIX's second production, the first being HIV (the first Arabic film to portray the story of HIV).

Taken a step away from the usual slapstick cheesy comedies you usually see coming out of Egypt, Al Makida is an excellent murder, mystery, thriller that is shrouded by lots of suspense and keeps you guessing as who committed the actual murder and why.

Excellent acting from Moustafa Mansour who was previously seen in HIV. Definitely look forward to seeing more of this actor in the near future.

A truly touching story

Finally a movie that talks about the topic of HIV in Egypt and the Arab world.

The movie shows the suffering of a young man when he discovers he has HIV and the consequences he has to live with. It reflects the reality of how HIV is perceived in the Arab world and how those at risk face discrimination and stigma.

This movie is very endearing and has some superb performances The story is strong and the dialogues fit in and serve their purpose in a variety of situations. The characters stay with you even after you watch it.

Take the message from this movie and pass it on. Summing up, "HIV" is surely one movie which is capable of raising a question and starting a debate.

A must watch!!
