  • Puthia Paravai -a classic thriller

This movie was released in 1964.Even after 43 years,if one were to view this movie now, he or she will wonder how such a classic thriller was made at that time when technical advancement in Tamil movie was rare. One can also wonder whether anyone could produce such movies now. Sivaji's fine acting,Viswanathan Ramamoorthy's music and KS Prasad's photography were the anchor points in this movie. The climax was super especially when Sivaji's so called dead wife (Sowkar Janaki) comes back alive. When Sivaji's attempt to prove everyone that it is impossible for his dead wife to be alive, just look at Sivaji's acting. His emotions and expressions are superb. On the whole it was a high class entertainment.

  • Uyarntha Manithan

Uyarntha Manithan is a classic movie on its own.It is Sivaji's 125th Film. His acting is superb. As one watches the movie, just observe Nadigar Thilagan's dressing and costumes. It was the fashion of those years. All the supporting artistes like Major,Asogan,Vanishree,Sowkar Janaki and Sivakumar (I think this is his first movie)all did their best. The direction was superb.

In one scene, Sivaji suspects Sivakumar and beats him up. During the beating up scene, look at Sivaji's facial expressions and his body language, it was really marvelous. Asogan is another good actor. I do not know why his talents were wasted in MGR movies. However in this movie his portrayal was superb especially in his passing away scene. Uyarntha Manithan is a must see movie.
