Just watch it :) Its great! I'm no fan of boring drama or overproduced shiny superhero stuff. This one had drama and a gothic, macabre and funny way of telling the story, it never once got boring for me. Loved it.
This series is an emotional rollercoaster wrapped in conventional horror and it's very well done indeed.
It contains all of lifes darkest pitfalls and emotions, including grief, betrayal, lies, suicide, drug addiction, insanity, depression but also love and compassion. It's a really dark series, with creepy and straight out scary moments included too. The acting is always spot on , as is the atmosphere. It made my stone cold heart cry and my horror addicted head spin. Haven't seen it yet? Well, what are you waiting for?
Ok, so I'll admit, it's kind of slowburn and you don't see a lot of gore (until the end). Still the atmosphere is creepy in a way that gets to my nerve. There are moments in the movie you understand what is about to happen, that doesn't ruin it though, it makes it more heart wrenching! I like both Toni Collette and Gabriel Byrne, but in all honesty, it was the roles of the children that made it so great. Superb casting. I thought this movie had a somewhat unique take on the subgenre, which I love. Definately worth a watch if you are up for a somewhat slowburn piece of art.
