  • Season 2: The Surprise I Didn't Know I Needed

I enjoyed the first season, especially the roast episode, but the rest of it felt underwhelming. I completely skipped Season 2 when it was released. However, this weekend, after the debut of Season 17, I was craving more Drag Race. That's when I remembered I hadn't seen Secret Celebrity Drag Race Season 2. I decided to give it a shot, setting my expectations very low.

To my surprise, it turned out to be incredibly entertaining! The production quality was outstanding, and the celebrities' commitment and growth throughout the episodes were inspiring and fun to watch. I binged the first four episodes, and every single one had at least two or more standout performances. Jamal Sims' choreography, along with the wigs, costumes, and overall production, was a visual treat.

I understand the frustration some people might feel about not recognizing the celebrities-many of the audience, myself included, didn't know them even after their reveals. But honestly, that didn't bother me. After each episode, I found myself Googling them and learning a bit about their lives, which added another layer of interest for me.

Season 2 was a delightful surprise, and I truly hope they continue with Celebrity Drag Race.

  • A nice first season, great second season, the cruelest cliffhanger

I quite enjoyed the first season, but it was a season with flaws. It seemed like too many creative ideas were crammed into a short period and few episodes. Some characters were likable but didn't inspire enough admiration (Carrie), some you knew neither to love nor hate (Jen), some were outright disturbing (Kash), and the most beloved character appeared only in the last episodes of the season (Jizzlord).

However, it's evident that lessons were learned from the first season, and a splendid second season returned without being rushed. I started watching without high expectations, but each episode was incredibly funny. I watched some characters with admiration (Carrie), genuinely liked some (Jen), and even the character I found irritating throughout the series (Kash) found its axis with an incredible storyline. And the most likable character of the series, Jizzlord, shone throughout the second season.

Every character entering the second season was fantastic, contributing greatly to the story.

Friendship, loss, grieving, family, parental issues, sexual identity crises... the second season touched upon many things in its own extraordinary way, occasionally bursting with strong laughter, delivering a well-balanced and beautiful second season.

But where they left off in the second season was truly ruthless. We've learned that the producers are heartless people. You can't leave us waiting for the third season like this. Hopefully, the third season will come soon.

  • It wasn't the best in the TV but definitely deserved to continue.. Shame you Netflix

I think after the success of Game of Thrones, every channel and streaming service wanted to get a slice of that pie, diving into adaptations of fantasy-themed books from all directions. Some rushed into it, while others tried to do a good job. Just as you can't replicate Friends in every comedy series, you can't replicate Game of Thrones in every fantasy series.

Shadow and Bone especially caught our interest with its first season, having a solid story, enjoyable and relatable characters, and it gained a good viewership. If I remember correctly, in the year it was released, it became one of Netflix's top-performing series. Although its second season, which seemed a bit rushed with an insufficient advertising campaign, may not match the first season, it continued by building on the story.

I firmly believe it's a series that doesn't deserve to be canceled. Netflix, with the potential to sustain series for 8 seasons that a handful of people watch, series that could bring in new customers as long as they stay in the library, I don't understand why it would give up after just one bad season. Yes, maybe the production of the series is more expensive compared to many others, but giving the chance to close the story with at least 3 seasons would show respect to its subscribers. Netflix has done this with many series like OA and Sense8. Especially in the science fiction or fantasy genres, we can see that Netflix struggles to maintain its quality and continuity.

Then, what difference does it make from Fox TV in the eyes of users? I haven't started watching Fox series for years because you never know when they will end and when they will leave the audience hanging. I feel the same for Netflix. I no longer start watching a series unless it has reached its final season, which significantly limits my options. I think Netflix's credibility is starting to run out for me. I can't even remember the last time I opened and enjoyed something I've been watching for a long time. Keep going like this, let's see if you can save your declining viewership with the two or three series you heavily depend on.
