The Rebound plays like a thrilling sports movie, with colorful characters and a nail-biting finale. But the heart of the Rebound is in its empathetic look at the overlooked community of disabled basketball players. Beautifully shot and directed, perfectly edited and structured, the film never condescends to its subjects, instead it comes alongside them, giving ample weight to what the players' have overcome in their lives and the sports aspirations they all hold for their athletic passions. The Rebound is one of the best documents on disability in America that I've seen. (Watched with a sold out crowd at the Naples International Film Festival).
