Watched on Netflix because it sounded similar to other found footage horror films I have enjoyed. Thought the plot of multiple cameras on presenters in a hospital overnight seemed familiar and that's because this is a remake of Gonjian: Haunted Asylum (2018). If you've seen the original or Grave Encounters then you know what to expect.
It's perfectly fine as a remake, doesn't stray too much from the formula. One for fans of found footage as the POV shots can get tiresome. Make sure you set the mood and watch in a darkened room, maybe light some incense to appease the spirits.
Also anyone with an Amazon device in your house prepare for a confused robot as a character named Alexa goes missing and everyone else shouts her name for an extended sequence.

This is probably only for Nicolas Cage completionists. A weird mashup of ideas with elements of Japanese folklore, cowboys, samurai and Cage doing a Mad Max impression. If you like the more esoteric bits of the Mad Max franchise and won't miss the car chases you'll like this. Some beautifully weird shots and characters but ultimately not a lot of plot.
This has a real vibe of student final project. Some awkward acting and stilted dialogue. Few beautiful drone shots of the forest. Music can sometimes be out of place making it look like a low budget pop song video.
Despite a quick glimpse at the start we don't get any undead until halfway through the film. Zombie and blood effects are minimal but fine. There's a slight twist to the usual zombie outbreak tropes.
Overall a fine distraction for 90 minutes but nothing special.
Well worth watching the end credits for a fun animated rap video that's superior to the whole film preceding it.
