  • Whatever you do. DONT CALL IT ANIME!

I accidentally stumbled upon this during the hype of Zero Two and Darling In The Franxx. Let's not even compare the two. Instead let's stick to the basics of every anime we expect to love, and every last disappointment this one left us with. The story goes all over the place with clear signs of rushed writing. The dialog is absolutely abhorrent. Sometimes it makes some sense, but the majority of the time it rarely had much to do with the scene it's in. The animation looks like it's from a computer over a decade before this came out. The characters will irritate you to no end, minus the lead police officer. But by the end of it you'll admit you forced yourself to finish it. I'll leave you with some small questions. Why is a evolutionary disease led by a cartoon dog, beast girl, and lolli character? Why did the rebels from the future pick children to lead them who fail to the very end to even pilot well or maintain basic human emotion? Lastly, why aren't we cheering on the revisions when they clearly have better leadership, resource management, and even with idiotic looney tunes leaders, much smarter fleshed out populations?

  • First Half is Timeless Beauty. Second Half is a trope.

Like so many anime who seem to write the beginning and the end before they first begin production, you end up with a trope filled product that sends it's first Half to critics to win all thr awards and leave fans drudging through anime tropes like "tournaments", "OP from the start", and fanservice like a potion or spell that removes clothes for the supposed pervert in the group. Sure I'm giving it an eight out of ten, but that is literally because the first Half was truly that precious. If the next season continues down a trope filled journey it'll become a 6. If it rises to the occasion of its original plot? Possibly a 9 or 10. Watch only if you have six straight hours of free time to rush through the second half that could have not existed at all and the story would have continued just fine. Just like Jujutsu Kaisen, it fills in the blanks but doesn't ensure quality.

  • 99% Of These Reviews Are A Waste Of Reading

This isn't your typical anime. That's where 99% went wrong. It even says "psychological thriller" in it's genre. Seeing as the majority of Anime watchers fall into 2 categories, Boob's and bloody noses and "other world", anything that is grounded and uses an immense amount of multi character inner monolog would simply fly under the radar. Amd with this anime not only will you get Square Enix and MAPPA at their finest, you'll know one thing. It's worth your time. Want a detailed review? Make your own. Because anyone who needs one to watch this falls short of the point the show is attempting to make. Gamble.
