My daughter took me to see this movie as an 02 freebie and we weren't sure what to expect. We still weren't really sure what we thought after we had seen it either but it wasn't good. I am an avid movie fan and thought the acting, cinematography and location were all superb. There is definitely an interesting idea of a story somewhere in here but it never really manages to emerge. The movie seems to drift between several different possible storylines and or outcomes. You keep hoping there will be a moment of revelation that explains it all, but that just doesn't really happen.
My advice, would be don't bother, there are better things to do with a couple of hours nearly, like cleaning an oven.

This film is now an incredible film to watch with so much hi ndsight it talks of AI and the problems of the Palestinian people, it has once again become relevant but probably not a socially acceptable film. I saw this when it came out and enjoyed the performance of an alien viewing Earth as a highly developed humanoid robot, that is appalled at our lack of compassion. The story now once again is relevant and there are surprising echoes of modern issues in it's dated story. I recommend this film and dare you to feel unmoved by what you see now of a problem we still see in the middle east today.
Really enjoyed this film a modern take on high tech warfare. This film pulls no punches it delivers a serious piece on how soldiers and politicians view a difficult decision in modern terrorism warfare. On the one side you have the soldiers who want to proceed to hit the target and on the other you have the politicians worried about how it looks to hit a target in a non-hostile country. Is it justified when innocent targets may be killed if it prevents a bigger potential threat? Can they remove the innocent from the strike zone in time, does the end justify the means.
I particularly loved the dithering of the politicians always seeking higher clearance, passing the buck so to speak, typical lack of leadership in difficult situations.
Highly recommended for cerebral viewing, don't expect a full on action film, this is a brinkmanship journey done superbly. Great story, acting and tension. Great job!
