  • Good action, bad acting

It's been mentioned in other reviews, the acting isn't great. Orlando Bloom seems out of his depth and his accent is cringeworthy. Scot Eastwood just seems to be doing impressions of his old man, and the rest of the troop's "banter" seems a bit forced and very cliche'd of old Vietnam movies.

The action scenes are pretty good though. And I guess that's the main reason people watch war movies. So for that it gets a good vote from me.

My suggestion; read the book instead. It gives more insight into the backstory and overall mission in the Nuristan province. It also accurately describes the constant harassment from the insurgents in the mountains.

  • Not bad, except....

This is actually a decent enough tv show, except for the scenes with Lashana Lynch.

I wasn't her biggest fan when I watched No Time To Die, but I thought I'd give her another chance and watch this. Unfortunately, she's still way out of her depth, and not convincing at all in her role. They've cast her as an ex firearms expert/cop who's now in intelligence and somehow a know-it-all about everything and likes to treat her colleague as a slave (who ironically is a white bloke) The storyline is pretty good so far and keeps you fairly well engrossed so for that reason I'll stick it out to the end and some how put up with LL's poor acting.
