I love how engaging this one started out. The characters are well constructed, the humour and jokes feel natural, and the whole 80's-90's background is marvelous. You can feel the energy and the horror equally, which makes the whole story more plausible, even though there are some silly moments and dumb decisions. The casting is superb! It's so nice to see so many familiar faces, people who came from comedy shows now taking a more mysterious and mature role. I do hope they renew the show to many more seasons. If they decide to take on different horror stories, this may become the newest and freshest AHS.
It's fun. I'm not gonna lie. But there are so many plot holes and underdeveloped storylines... Maybe a second season will resolve this, but to me it seems the writers watched "The Tourist" and decided to give it a go in a similar genre. What I will give praise for is the comedy and honesty (it never tries to be what is not), which is very much my style; although it relies on stereotypes, it brings a comedy language that throughout the show develops into a functional element that helps the story move forward. Some characters could have been used in a smarter way, but the story itself is mid, so I guess when you accept what you are going to get, you can enjoy the show for what it is.
Ok, this is a soft 7 for me just because I love when movies explore the concept of what is reality and what is time. The acting was good, specially Dylan's who has been proving how talented and committed he is. The only problem for me was the execution of the plot.
