Honestly, I was expecting a way better execution than this!! It doesn't gave me any notes of the personal horror presented in the book, it was all made in a very unrealistic way, far from the original story and more or less not taken serious while filming.
The camera angles were inaccurate, the surroundings were empty, the whole story changes let me very disappointed. Have in mind that I'm not even a huge fan of King/Bachman, just happened to read that book and remembered it well.
When I've heard they're making a movie based on the book, my first thought was "I wonder how they'd do it, it's almost impossible to be 1:1, bits too brutal". And it seemed that way, they were far from being accurate. Of course they can't recreate everything, but at least they could've invest higher efforts in such a psychological story.
The acting and the whole dialogues made no sense during most of the movie. There wasn't a real story, nor any good explanation of why all of this is happening. No background story telling, just threw the boys into the walk, like the audience will figure it out. Well, it's far from figuring it out everything was making no sense. The winner made no sense and the ending of the movie made no sense.
What made any sense, after all?? Nothing, really. .
Total garbage of an adaptation - that's what this movie is all about. Avoid it, if you like the book.
