This is one of the best films I have ever seen, most defiantly this year at least. Liam Neeson is as I hinted at in my summery the real Dark Night, in this film he shows us the true side of a man pushed to breaking point which then leads to total destruction of the bad guys. To this I add that the film Batman Begins which also stared Liam Neeson was in a sense owned by him, it wasn't until I saw this film that I realized just how good he was in that film, I have to admit I haven't seen the Dark Night yet but I'm willing to lay down a few quid to say it isn't as good as the last Batman, and it isn't as good as Taken.
There was only one bad point in this movie and that was when he takes out the spotter! Why? All he had to do was let the blond be taken and he could have followed them to the crib where the girls were being kept. That said he wasn't really at any point in the mood for messing around.
If you love Batman, then you will like this film, if you liked Batman Begins and thought it was good because of the new Batman (Christian Bale) or the new Batmobile or new insight into the super hero known as Bruce Wayne. I think you might be a little disappointed because it is clear from this movie Liam Neeson was the bad guy that made Batman look good in Begins. I cant help but feel I'm going to watch The Dark Night and think about this film.
To be honest I don't really need to sell this film to you, the 7.5 should do that for you, I do admit there are weak points in the movie but boy did the movie move along at a rapid entertaining pace. Good watch!, by the DVD, go to the movies, or download this movie you will watch it more than a few times.

Anybody who thought this was a soft core porn movie would be forgiven. The whole 'guy turns up at commune and gets laid half a dozen times'! What's that about, I ask? It's certainly not based on reality. That said the movie is not set in present times so perhaps we shouldn't judge the women within it on a modern standard, supposing nuns no longer put out for a good looking gardener. On that note probably best to stick to the guidance here, if parents are wondering, as it's bound to give us lads a false sense of hope at such a young age. It's not surprising given the directors talents! The movie is difficult to follow, with that results a surprising and interesting film. The actors are all well know teen actors, you will have seen them on the likes of Skins and OC, this is one of those movies that seems to be a summer break for actors, however they did not take a break in acting, if at times they seem a little hung-over, so to speak. There is also more than just a good cast here, there is a mix of nationalities, it varies from all over the world and this adds vastly to the period setting. There is a bit in the movie where the evil guy sees a musket for the first time, and that is a cool idea. What else could the evil baddie say to his minions other than "I want that get me it".
Brilliant cameo from David Williams's (cart pusher) funniest moment of the whole movie. He is only in it for a short while at the beginning but its worth watching the movie for his part alone. It is important to say that id normally save my time for a movie that doesn't deserve its rating, this film is very luck to have a 5 and deserve it, you should watch it and see what you think.

I have given this movie a ten out of ten. This is not because its a ten let me say that right now. However as I have said in my summary, the film does not deserve the rating it has, so in respect I hope to raise that 2.8 to at least a 6.0.
There are no tedious parts to this movie considering the genre! it was not too slapstick and made me laugh more than a few times. Its defiantly a family movie. The acting is pretty well rounded, there is some good stuff from John. C. McGinely he played an obviously big part of this movie. I honestly didn't realise who he was, that is to say I forgot where I had seen him before, i.e one of the characters of Scrubs. I suppose that the performance from Ice Cube (O'Shea Jackson) is by no mean top notch but he pulls it off! Seriously give it a go, I'm confident you will enjoy this movie, and I'm disappointed that it has a 2.8 as this could have put me off watching it, totally undeserved if you ask me. ******
