  • Why do simple when you can complicate?!

This could be the motto of the story of this excellent film. All those who know and like HK cinema style will watch it with great pleasure.

Do not think too much about the meaning of the title - it is there because a film must have some title. When you see the film, you will forget about it for it has not much to do with what is happening :-).

Dragon number 1 and the source of all complications - Jackie Chan. It's a lawyer who has obviously never imagined that you can simply do what you have to do. And if finally he fails it's precisely because he was manipulating too much. He has another two dragons to help him with this task (I mean losing the case). Dragon number 2 (following the order of appearance in the film) is Sammo Hung - not too scrupulous man selling illegally false guns. Dragon number 3 is Yuen Biao - a little bit crazy but sincere guy (too sincere to have such a cunning friend!). As usual his acting and acrobatic skills are simply amazing. As far as the smart lawyer is not smart enough to warn his aides that they are two working for the same case, they meet, of course, and successfully ruins each others plans and the whole Jackie's strategy. And all this does not mean that they are losers. Not at all! In fact they win... but not where they thought they would.

I do not recommend you to eat or drink while watching this film, because it is full of funny episodes which come unexpectedly. It might be dangerous if you have your mouth full of food! I especially appreciate the funny fighting moments. I do not mean only fighting in a funny situation, but the fighting itself, its choreography. When you are told that three men are fighting, you probably think one against two? WRONG! Each of the three against the other two. I told you it's complicated.

The most boring part is the final fight. In fact, it is excellent. Jackie Chan and Yuen Biao are demonstrating their wonderful skills (and their opponents are not worse) while Sammo Hung is looking half dead with his face painted in white. I say it's boring because there are so many films that end in the same way: general fighting - all bad guys vs all good guys, the good ones winning by miracle, for, in fact, the enemy was stronger.

The film has also its lyric moment which make it so cute and human... and gives you some rest, for nobody can laugh without stopping during one hour and half!

  • One of the funnies films!

The "Wealthy train" aka "Millionaire's express" looks like an action film. But strangely each and every moment that in a normal action film would have been dramatic here turns into a farce. It has all necessary elements of a classical western, only things happen in China. The fighting stuff is really well done, only instead of tension it brings another occasion to smile. It is extremely rich in characters and situations. One could say overcharged. But most of these situations are illogical: I mean, if it were true, it would never happen, at least it would not happen this way... But it doesn't matter. Do not look for any logical explanations, the film is not about that. In fact it is a parody. And a good one. People who created this film gave a free course to imagination, and the audience is invited to do the same thing. It's like a game: recognize all moments which usually are presented so seriously in many action films (and are supposed to thrill us!) and see how ridiculous they often are. "Wealthy train" is one of those films that never becomes outdated. It will be appreciated by everyone who is able not to take himself too seriously. Watch it when you want to relax, cheer yourself up and just have fun!

  • Symbolic narration about spiritual fight

The first thing I thought when I saw this films was: It is not really a film, at least it is not what we imagine spontaneously when we hear the word "film". it is entirely symbolic, everything in it has a figurative meaning. So if you are not used to express thing in a symbolic way, you will find it strange, if you are not acquainted with philosophy, religion, spiritual life, you will think it's just a fairy-tale... and even a weird one, chaotic. For me "The legend of Zu" is perfectly transparent. And I do like it. It tells us in images the story about the fight between light and darkness, the fight that is as old as humanity, and every one who is in search of the sens in this life is confronted with it. The film is obviously made by Buddhists. I am not a Buddhist. My religion and the vision of the world and human is different. But as far as we are all humans and have the same human nature we necessarily have common experiences and can understand each other. It is a really beautiful film! And I which we had more films like this - films that have a meaning. There are too many empty stories which are good only to make time pass more quickly.
