Very good and relevant film, wonder why they don´t show it on TV.
This is a womans movie, and should only be reviewed by women.
I only embarked on this movie because I had a romance my self on Santorini in the spring of 1982 (same year the film was shot). The goal of my aspirations then, besides studying architecture, was to get laid by the fair and beautifull freshman Pernille, who was asigned as my partner, during two weeks of hard core measurement, sketching and fotography. Didn´t get laid, at least not that year, so it was nice to experience in the movie, someone who did. Apart from that I was somewhat disappointet about the plot, if it even makes sence using such a fine word for the script. In short: beautiful emptiness and a nice backflash to Santorini, once a remote and charisssed pearl, now a ... I don´t know ... excessive tourism is a tougt master. The airport opened that same year 1982. Then came aids and the whole love-scene changed. Maybe this is the greatest thing about Summer Lovers, that it shows how carefree life could be, back then before aids.
