Really would have loved to know more of the full story of the arrests. And I have a feeling the director feels the same way. But this was a beautiful documentary. Odd word for a show, but beautiful it was. I felt the details that were shared with us were sincere. But I also believe a lot was held back. I loved Pee Wee when I was growing up. I went to see the first movie in the theater, which really was rare for my household. But I remember it like it was yesterday. I also remember my uncle, who'd already seen the movie, decided it would be a great idea to cover my eyes during the large Marge scene. I'm almost 50 and still have not seen the face reveal. Covering my eyes was the worst thing they could have done. It tortured me for years after that. I'm sure what I conjured up in my mind, was worse than what was shown lol. I say all this with a little seriousness and a little jest.
Paul was an extremely handsome creative man. I for one, am so glad he thought up such an amazing kind character. It's such a huge part of our nostalgia and childhood.
The director did a great job pulling out what he could. And it doesn't hurt that Paul obviously loved to talk about himself. He oozed arrogance, but also a lot of vulnerability. I hope he felt like the documentary was as "complete" as he wanted, and I hope he is at peace.
If you like documentaries and at any point, loved Pee Wee Herman, I believe you'll enjoy this series.

This episode is the best, by far. Which is extremely disturbing to point out, because it's a story of the worst of humanity. Devon Sawa, he'll always hook me in, but the detective here, as just as intriguing. When I think back to best of ID, this ranks high on my list. The entire series is top tier true crime. It's a shame they only had 2 seasons. This is one that I hope would get a second chance.
I can't really pick another standout episode, because they are all really good. I feel like this show, somehow, get the detectives into the headspace to be brutally honest. And they all seem extremely sincere, which is rare!!! Several of them have been brought to tears, but it never seems like it's just for the camera.
I wish all of ID true crime shows, could bring out the true emotions of people, like this one manages to do.
