There's plenty of great design, interesting gritty lead detective, but also tons of stupidity. The detective gets kicked off the case, but just sticks around. Then he's kicked off the force, but just sticks around. In fact, his boss knows he's a loose canon but still takes orders from him. So best to just ignore the flaws.
