Seo In-guk plays Kang Ji-sung a chaebol who lives in France and shops the latest fashions and due to his keen eye has many followers as he develops trends. He returns to Korea to take charge of the company but loses his memory due to a suspicious accident and his family thinks he is dead. He ends up in the care of Ko Bok-shil (Nam Ji-hyun) a kindly soul who has come to Seoul to find her estranged brother after her grandmother dies. It is amusing as Ji-sung tries to recover his memory but still continues to spend Bok-Sils hard earned money on frivolous things. Overall an entertaining watch with good performances from the entire cast. Could have done with being shorter and a little more going on with the supporting cast as it is a slow development of the inevitable end.
I'm watching this in 2025 and I wonder how many of these women are alive 9 years after this documentary was released. Women from Korea, China and the Philippines are interviewed about their experiences as sex slaves for the Japanese Soldiers during WW2. It shows them travelling to Japan to seek justice and compensation for their ruined life's. It is heartbreaking to watch these damaged women who have survived not only from their treatment by the Japanese but the shame and embarrassment felt towards them from their fellow countrymen.
Zhou Ye plays He Yan who has risen in the ranks posing as her ill brother and is a celebrated General. When her brother recovers the family try to get rid of her so he can claim her glory and standing. She ends up enlisting in an army led by the cold and mistrusting General Xiao Jue played by Lei Cheng and has ambitions to gain her reputation and take revenge. The two are suspicious of each other but over time realise they have helped each other in the past and must join forces to protect the country and fight against the dark forces at court out for their own gain. Very enjoyable romantic action drama with a good story and great cast.
