  • The Perfect Trilogy

Toy Story 3 had BIG shoes to fill upon its release. The first two Toy Story films were incredible, but I never had any doubts about Toy Story 3 being just as good, and I wasn't disappointed, it was incredible.

I went to watch the film with a group of friends in its opening week, and we watched the 3D version. The 3D was impeccable, but watching the film in 3D was just a bonus, Toy Story 3 was something i'd been waiting 11 years for.

In the film, we see a 17 year old Andy going to college and moving on, but his toys are thrown away by mistake and they end up in a box donated to Sunnyside daycare. Upon there arrival, the toys are impressed by the daycare centre and the other toys that they meet there, but Woody is intent on going back to Andy, insisting that he still wants the other toys, but they find the daycare centre as a paradise, and so Woody leaves alone, only to be found and taken home by a little girl named Bonnie. Meanwhile, Buzz and the gang discover daycare isn't as pleasant as it seems, when the toys are put in with the toddlers. Woody begins to see the bright side of having a new owner like Bonnie, but discovers the truth about the daycare centre and so sets out to rescue his friends.

The plot becomes rapidly intense, full of twists and turns. In many ways, Toy Story 3 is different to its predecessors, but in a positive way. The film certainly has plenty of action, and also very emotional, especially the scene where the toys decide their fate and join hands ready to be destroyed.

Overall, I wasn't let down in the slightest by Toy Story 3 and in my opinion, it was just as good as the previous films. The perfect end to a perfect trilogy.

  • Why all the fuss?

I admit this episode contradicted the Simpsons history, but come on, the show is set in a floating timeline, you don't seriously believe that Bart would still be 10 years old, when the show started in 1989?

OK, maybe the writers should have scrapped this idea, but in my opinion, the episode turned out pretty well. Their was some hilarious references and parodies (such as Homer's parody of 'Nirvana - Rape Me', with a song called 'Shave Me', which Weird Al parodied in the episode), the Back To The Future reference with Marvin Cobain, a parody of Marvin Berry.

This was criticized an awful lot by fans and critics alike, I am a passionate fan of The Simpsons, I have watched nearly every episode, and I can honestly say I enjoyed this episode, it wasn't great, but it was a lot of fun.

    8/10.

  • Not so good

This episode wasn't one of my favourites of the Simpsons, it just wasn't consistent.

The episode got off to a funny start, with Bart's troubles with th Gym teacher, but then it just stopped being funny. Groundskeeper Willie is one of my favourite characters in the show, and lets face it, it was never going to work turning him into a real gentleman.

IGN named this episode as the best of the 17th season, i'd have to disagree, as their was plenty of better episodes than this.

It's not an awful episode, but if you are not a fan of new Simpsons, then you will probably not enjoy it. It has some funny parts in, but nothing great.

    6/10.
