Jeff Bridges, Robert Downey Jr., Gwyneth Paltrow, and Terrence Howard in Iron Man (2008)

Horror, mystery, mockumentary, sci if, and thrillers. The genre made big by "The Blair Witch Project" and continues to be overused by Paranormal Activity 8?? This sub-genre / filmography style remains one of my favorite ways to tell a story. Not only the added sense of realism but it's very affordable film method allows a lot of independent and very talented storytellers the ability to put on display. In order to be a very entertaining Found Footage Flick, you have to nail 3 main parts in my opinion. 1) The Slow Burn : usually makes up half to more then half of the start of the movie, this is where the character building, relationships, and the like take place. If this is not done right, more often then not people won't stick around for 2) The Hook : why are you carrying a camera with you, pretty much the plot or reason for the story 3) THIS WILL MAKE OR BREAK ANY FF FILM the ending. You generally watch a 60-90 min movie for the intense final 20/30 mins when usually all he'll breaks lose. I've found all the great ones nail these factors.
