  • Everybody's an idiot.

This video is funny. It has nothing to do with kids cursing, or Will Ferrell. It's just funny. It's an intelligent short piece, in which the actors are very funny. The fact that world-famous comedians made it has nothing to do with it. However, I'm glad that they did! These guys are professional funny men who have worked for years and years at making people laugh, and they're damn good at it. This Will Ferrell bashing has got to stop. People act like he came over to their house and kicked their dog or something. The guys funny. And he never plays the race card, and he doesn't abuse or exploit any gender or age group. There are a lot of comedians out there who make a living (and unfortunately in some cases, a very good living) exploiting everyone, all the time. Will Ferrel has a made a career out of just being funny, without any sort of gimmick. Now granted, the sports crap has got to stop. But all the while that he's been making these goofy sports movies, he's been staying busy with other stuff too. And this is a perfect example. You shouldn't hate this video because you have some sort of unfounded aggressive attitude towards Will Ferrell. And you shouldn't like it just because it's Will, or just because there's a small child cursing. It's just funny. Sorry jerks, but it's hilarious. Deal with it.

  • I Get it!!!

This show is amazing. It is absolutely the best comedy show on American television right now (with a nod to 30 rock coming in at a close second.) What a great time for this show to get started too, right after the loss of the great Arrested Development! The key to truly enjoying this show, in my opinion, is to first watch the British version of The Office. As most people know, this show is based on an original series that aired on the BBC 2 in Great Britian. If you can get a hold of the British Office, then do it. It's absolutely brilliant and inspired. One of the most original and fantastically executed television shows of all time. It's only twelve episodes however, which is heartbreaking because you never want it to end....

That's where the American Office comes in. Firstly, it's NOT a ripoff, and should not be seen as less intelligent or in anyway inferior to the original. In fact, this is one of those very rare cases where the remake actually surpasses the original. Without taking anything away from the British Office - which is as close to perfect as a comedy can be - the American version is, in my opinion, far superior. If for nothing else, the fact that after 4 seasons it's still going strong with 66 episodes of comedic genius under it's belt, and all of them are worth watching. It is also important to note that the original creators of the British Office had a heavy hand in not only the adaptation of the American version, but in the writing and in the continued evolution of the series.

The jokes in the American Office are superbly crafted, and the cast is impeccable. There could not have possibly been a better cast to pay homage to what was a groundbreaking and truly influential original series. With Steve Carell at the helm (who was recently named the funniest man in America by LIFE magazine,) every episode in the American office combines up to the minute pop culture satire, with sweat-inducing discomfort (ala Curb Your Enthusiasm,) and perfectly timed humor jokes to create an absolutely engaging and addictive t.v experience. This is without a doubt the best comedy on American television right now. And I can't wait for season 5!!!
