I loved this show-the muppets have been so mismanaged since Jim Henson passed/ there were a few hits in the 90s but they all lacked something- the heart wasn't there- there were times when they came close and this show was one of them... the cameos were a great surprise(so many of them.)the music was sweet,(getting permission to use them was impressive) the show is better written than the previous offerings and you got to know the band better- yes they're puppets but you got caught up in the story... only one season and they leave you hanging- it's a shame -
I remember this show when I was a kid and it was hilarious and had a sweet streak- gentle humor- with a touch of crazy- shame I can't find it on dvd or blue ray- I grew up in the Bay Area where it was filmed and it's one of the reasons I became a puppeteer... yes almost everybody references the muppets and Jim Henson as an influence to inspire them in the direction of puppetry; but Dudley also was a big part of my career.
Walt must be so dizzy spinning in his grave. The people running Disney have to stop with the sequels, reboots and pretty much sucking off the successes of the past . Here's a concept: have an original thought!!! There is a plethora of great ideas out there! Like mama Odie says in princess & the frog," ya gotta dig a little deeper" look into your past- you have a rich heritage of classic animation, wonderful story telling and some of the most talented Artists to ever hold a pencil, paintbrush or computer mouse-(ha)a Mickey reference...billions of people have grown up on your work. Do your best . And by the way take better care of the muppets they deserve better management as well.
