Unfortunately this film was difficult to market - it's not a horror, perhaps more of a period, psychological thriller.

The cinematography was beautiful and the acting masterful. There is a constant sense of dread and anxiety and paranoia throughout that kept me on the edge of my seat.

It's a haunting gothic tale set in a fascinating time period in American history. The vulnerability of the women alone in this barren landscape was frightening and the characters felt very real - their hopes pinned on the return of the father.

It's not really a Netflix film, perhaps more of an A23, arthouse piece? It deserved a more receptive audience.

  • One of the most morally complex episodes of Star Wars content I've seen so far.

  • An absolute stunningly beautiful short film.
