OK a lot of folks complain about this film. It is a great storyline with great SFX for the time. Its like comparing a 08 Cadillac XLR with a 59 Coupe DeVille. Ya see back in the day...movies relied on good acting. Instead of mind candy SFX. This is a good buy and a joy to watch. I saw this movie as a kid at the Whalom drive-in Leominster Massachusetts. I remember it vividly! Dinosaurs and wicked cool sea beasts make a kids imagination come alive. A classic take of betrayal and good guy beats bad guys and wins girl. Anyone who complains about this would be the same person complaining about the guy in the rubber godzilla suit. Its about the story and the acting. 1978 guys! Star wars came out about the same time ya know!
I remember when this movie was filmed back in 78. yeah its dating myself. The movie was filmed at MCI ( Massachusetts Correctional Facility) Concord, Concord Mass. My father while actually working there was an extra. I had a chance to meet Mr.Falk and a few others as a kid ( I was ten). We had free tickets to the opening. I thought it was an awesome movie about bungling thieves. Most folks expected a serious thief/heist movie. Although based on an actual event. I found the movie comical. Although it didn't have Mini coopers jumping through a European city. It did serve its purpose as a good funny movie. A good buy as a bargain.
OK so It looked like it was shot with a camcorder. No worries mate! The raw violence will have you on you seat edge. Taking violence and revenge to a level that the PUNISHER producers were afraid to go. Bikers will like this too. The guy rides a sweet A$$ sled with apes. I would put the acting on the level of OLD BOY. And the filming on the level of CLOVERFIELD. The story line is very twisted and I'm surprised that it hasn't reached cult status yet. I wont spoil the movie. But if you know the storyline from PUNISHER you know this film. But then they take it to the next level. Similar to SEVEN or SAW mixed with Mel Gibson's PAYBACK. It makes you think....would I do the same thing?
