It's true that this cheesy flick is manically silly and zips right along with one silly goofy bit after another, but it does have lots of great old 1960s comedians in it. Older folks may recognize Chuck McCann, Joey Forman, Scatman Cruthers, Vaughn Meader, Marty Ingels, Joe E. Ross, and best of all Stanley Myron Handelman, who was a regularly featured comedian on the Dean Martin Variety Show. This movie also has Micky Dolenz of The Monkees in it. It was strange to see one of the best all-time kid show emcees, Chuck McCann play a racist and very lecherous weirdo called "The Assassin". I watched and loved the Chuck McCann show when I was a kid in the early-to mid-1960s. He and Sandy Becker were the all-time best and funniest kid show hosts. Linda Lovelace looks great and very sexy, but unfortunately apparently had no acting skills whatsoever. All in all though, this movie is very watch-able and if you remember those great old comedians the way I do, and you like a little irreverence in your comedy movies, check this one out if you can find it. I wish there was some footage of Stanley Myron Handelman doing his hilarious routine on stage, but alas there isn't. Rest in peace O great one. You are missed.

Maybe children under the age of ten would enjoy this movie, which is supposed to be a comedy, but I, a 56 year-old man, was very disappointed when I saw it. Sure, it does have a good cast, but for me it fell flat on it's cinematic face. I kept waiting for it to make me laugh, but it was so lame and childish that after an hour of boredom I debated whether to keep watching it. How many pratfalls and silly unlikely quips can you sit though? Aside from some occasionally nice scenery and the period costumes, this movie doesn't have much to offer. I haven't yawned so much since I saw Jerry Lewis'old stink bomb "Don't Raise the Bridge, Lower the River". Oh well!

What a waste of a very good legendary comedian! The writing in this movie is so poor and weak that it is insipid instead of amusing. Soupy spends about a third of the movie flying around in the sky, actually more like floating up like a balloon and then having no control of how to go where he'd like to go. This gets very boring very quickly and he just alternately keeps trying to look either frightened when heading for danger or else he looks happy in spite of his inability to control where he's going. There are a group of bad guys who keep trying to kill him for some reason which is never really explained. Soupy is only supposed to be a mere janitor anyway, so why the fuss? Tab Hunter plays dual roles as both an army soldier and also one of the bad guys, who just happens to look exactly like somebody else on the NASA space ship base. What are the chances of that? Anyway, Tab does his best but nothing can save this turkey of a movie. I found a copy of this movie on eBay, but it isn't available otherwise. Probably the other copies of it were tossed into the garbage. I was really trying to enjoy this movie and hoping that it would get better, but it never did.
