  • Like wine, the series gets better as it matures.,

The characters grow on you as you watch them change over the course of 4 seasons. From naive, innocent start to love mesh, love mess, love nest? But you can sense there are deep friendships on and off screen. Gabriel looks fed up, all these women chasing him. Emily is always in love but not finding the right man. Love Sylvie now that she and Laurent are back together and they show such good chemistry as a couple on screen. Camille's turning into a sour puss. Love her 'Pa' in the series. Wish I had one like that, a loving fun Dad instead of the stern and demanding types, frowning on all boyfriends. Ah, mais ils sont français (they are French). As for Mindy, she should be singing Madonna's song 'Material Girl' because she is just that. 'Bravo' Lucas, 'bravo' all cast.

  • Keep loved ones close at heart at Christmas

Message from this wonderful Christmas movie: 'Keep loved ones close at heart at Christmas'. That's how they would have liked to be remembered. Loved and never forgotten. Remember the laughter, the joy, the good times and not the tears. Top marks for subtle storytelling, great directing, careful timing of shots, clever editing, and music with only the smallest hint of suspense that gradually grows on you. 'Opening a present is not as exciting as getting one, it is the suspense that should be enjoyed and prolonged' said the bright, cheerful girl in red, Hedwig.

Slowly, the story unravels and things appear that make you realise that not all are what they seem to be .... and yet, it is so charmingly filmed, that you at first think that it is just a good fun movie for kids. There is a lot more beneath the surface. You are swept along the fjord and scenic beauty of Norway, covered in sparkling Christmas snow icing. Each snowflake crystal is unique, do you know that? There are billions of snowflakes in a snowfall and yet, no two are the same.

A modern day love story as told by children with tons of snow love in their hearts for their young friends and family. Bring home Christmas Joy this Christmas. 🎄

  • 6.5/10 Marie Curie. A legend whose discoveries saved millions of lives.

Amazing true story. Pierre & Maries Curie were two young scientists in love with science who did not know at first what they had discovered could be both greatly beneficial as well as deadly. Radioactive elements. These were later harnessed and used to 'cure' cancer by blasting away malignant tumour cells. It led to other discoveries and use of X-rays and laser beams for medical purposes. But the deadly effects of radiation which can also cause cancer only became known to Pierre & Marie Curie after they had fallen ill themselves. Pierre fought for her work and her Nobel Prize as Marie Curie was a woman scientist ahead of her times but as a Polish Jew faced both sexist and racial prejudices. In her days, women were not even allowed to express their feelings. She loved Pierre most after his death in a tragic carriage accident when he fainted on a road on his way home.

However, this story would have greater emotional impact under stronger directing. Momentous events were not shown as momentous enough, there was not enough emotional build up before or elation afterwards. Or maybe it was the screenplay and editing. Various incidents which appear not connected were suddenly flashed up, as the story jumped from a hospital in Paris to a hospital in the States and then to the battlefield and later to Chernobyl. Or maybe it was the music. Music is what coveys the emotional drama. Like in Oppenheimer, which not surprisingly won the Oscar for music (as well as for directing by Christopher Nolan). There is no doubt, however, that Marie Curie deserved to win the Nobel Prize (twice) and her name remains legend till this day.
