  • Not bad, but falls a bit short

I quite enjoyed the battle scenes in this movie for the most part. It is from what I can tell an excellent depiction of World War I. It's refreshing to see a World War I movie and from a Canadian perspective to boot.

However the surrounding story line was just full of cheese. The whole relationship was painful to watch, and for the most part uninteresting. It was just far too cliché too enjoy. The dialogue was just painful at parts.

I found myself wanting to see more of the battle and a lot less of the love story.

  • Seriously, don't even download this and watch it for free.

Seriously this movie had no redeemable qualities other than a few gratuitous sex scenes. The story was flat and uninteresting. The production quality was terrible. The musical score was absolute garbage. The characters were terrible. Do yourself a favour and watch Gigli instead as it's probably more interesting than this movie. You can probably watch the whole movie in 20 minutes by hitting the fast forward button and still not miss anything. It's the story about a guy who gets a promotion to VP and plunges into a world of infidelity - sleeping with women in every city he travels too. It's about as exciting as watching paint dry really.

  • An Excellent Documentary on the behaviour of Corporations

This is a fantastic documentary the dives into the psychology of the corporation, a legal entity. Every time I see one of these documentaries, I feel like I become more and more left leaning. This film touches on social irresponsibility, environmental destruction, international sweat shops, and the behaviour of these corporations about these issues.

They hypothesize that The Corporation is a legal entity with a mental disorder. And they support their thesis quite well actually.

The highest point of the film was the Water Monopolization in Bolivia, which is a tragic story where citizens were not even allowed to collect rainwater so they could have fresh drinking water because of a corporate monopoly in their area.

If Corporations had it their way, they'd patent breathing, and every breath we took we'd pay a royalty fee to the patent holder.
