After a great S3 Episode 4, which beautifully brought some of the best book moments to screen, the Show was finally finding its feet 7 becoming a proper adaptation we all wished for
Then comes Episode 5, and its back to pointless, meandering storylines, which completely ignore the books. Like for some reason we need to waste more time on Alanna Sedai & her warder Maksim, who have another melodramatic breakup only to come back together under impossible circumstances. And the Episode ends with setting up another teen romantic melodrama between Egwene & Rand. Like a soap opera. Perhaps there was too little material in 14 books, so Raif & Co felt the need to write new material for most of the show themselves to fill up the Episodes, and they took inspiration from The Bold and the Beautiful. Thats what this feels like
Loved the Seafolk, some decent dream world building, but not much else. What a let down after such a great adaptation of Rhuidean. I'm finally losing hope, this show is going nowhere.

I wrote a hopeful S3E1 review, gave it a high rating despite its issues, only because it seemed like the TV show is course correcting towards the Book story. There was hope.
After watching the next 2 episodes, all hope is now lost. The show isn't bad, but there is no chance of this becoming an adaptation of our beloved Wheel of Time anymore. This is at best fan fiction loosely inspired by WOT. The plot lines are all over the place, all logic falls to pieces if you think about it for more than 10 seconds. The show prioritises melodrama & visuals over story
I thought they were rushing through 1st episode so as to get everything back to where it is in the books, so that they can spend time on giving us Mat meeting Snakes & Foxes and Rand at Rhuidean. No. It was so that we can have more absolutely useless scenes of Liandrin crying over some white painted circles
I will watch till Rand at Rhuidean, after that I'm finally done with this series. So disappointing. What a waste of what is the best fantasy story I have ever read.

S3E1 felt rushed, too many scenes happening too fast - felt like the TV show is trying take the story from point A to B very quickly. If this is so that the story gets back on track with the Books, I'm all for it. Hence rating it high at 7/10. There is hope now!
Another positive is that the production quality has improved, this finally looks like a good, expensive TV Series. Acting is great, as usual. Loved the scene of Siuan talking to the girls. And Mat is starting to feel like book Mat, which is awesome!
The negatives are still the same, the show preferring the big visual over what makes sense, which means it only feels good as long as you don't think about it. For example, a big Aes Sedai fight in the Hall of the Tower sounds great, as long as you don't wonder why 100s of Aes Sedai did not descend upon the Hall immediately, etc etc
Thats ok, as long as we see more book stuff from Episode 2 onwards.
