  • Good character piece

As a resident of Texas, it's great to see Texas on the big screen in scope 2:35 aspect ratio. Loved the use of music and intercutting, and especially liked the ending. I would have preferred fuller colors as opposed to the dried out look. But not even that could take away from the raw majesty of the Texas landscape.

  • Funny short film

GHOST TENANT starts off rather sad, but then cleverly delves into the humorous aspect of dying, showing a recently departed person struggling with the idea that he is in fact dead. It touches on the huge question of what happens, if anything, after humans die. Does our consciousness or soul go somewhere else? Is there a somewhere else? Is there a soul? Can the living interact with the dead and vice versa? The film doesn't necessarily answer all these questions, nor does it have to. But it does ask them in an entertaining and even light-hearted way. You won't be saddened or disappointed if you see the film. The lead actor Charles Gorgano is delightful and warm, immediately drawing us into his world, or "worlds" shall we say. Nice music too.

  • Captivating

I saw MISSING CHILD at the Laemmle Cinema in Beverly Hills, CA. The audience was completely silent while watching the film, which means everyone was enraptured by it. I was too, as I had no idea where it was going or what the characters were going to do next. The film takes three people with divergent motives and ways of doing things and puts them together in one house for most of the movie. Relationships unravel, new ones develop, information is revealed, and people surprise each other before the show is through. The promos for the film describe it as "disturbing", but I've seen far more disturbing films than this. It's not even that graphic and is rather tame in that regard. What might be considered disturbing is the shifting motives and changing loyalties between people who think they are able to trust one another. You think you know someone…then they go and do what they do in this movie. Definitely worth seeing!

Kristen the lead actress is wonderful as someone sweet and tender, but also with a dark past. Luke is intense as her older, unpredictable boyfriend. And Charles Gorgano is downright creepy as an older fellow who seems like your favorite uncle, but then becomes something else.
