  • Parisian water buffet is officially open

Did I enjoy it? Yes. Was it entertaining? Yes. Did it have eye-rolling moments where dumb people make dumb decisions ? Of course it did. It is after all a film about a genetically mutated Shark stalking the Seine river in Paris. This is definitely not on-par with other superior creature features, like the brilliant Alexandre Aja alligator snap-fest Crawl, but it does have it's moments. The look of the film is pretty cool, with some good CGI scenes of Paris, admittedly a few of the shark scenes looked a bit naff but overall not too bad. I've seen a few other reviewers saying they didn't like the ending. Personally, I thought it was a very interesting way to leave the story and I honestly didn't really see that coming. Most of us know what to expect with a film like this, so If that's your cup of tea, I'm sure you'll find it -at the least- mildly entertaining.

  • Love Seth's other work, this was unbelievably poor

    Well well well!

Myself and my three mates were pretty excited as we sat down to watch this film, the trailer had me howling and made it look pretty cool. I think Family guy is great, as too American Dad. And I thought Ted was really very funny and had a decent script. About 20 minutes into the film I'd noticed there hadn't been much laughter at all from any of us. I stared at my mate and we both had this look of utter disappointment and bewilderment on our little faces.

Some reviewers have given this an eight, stating it's 'the funniest film they've seen in ages'. I'm sorry, but they either have really bad taste in films, weren't watching the same film I was, or are part of the films production.

Honestly, I was so disappointed. The humour was cringeworthy, the script was absolute pants and I was left thinking that Seth MacFarlane must know deep down in his heart that he's created a real stinker. Pick yourself up Seth, dust yourself off and move on to greener and funnier pastures.

  • Wow! This film will creep the hell out of you

I had no idea what this film was about before I saw it, and boy was I pleasantly surprised. From the same director as REC and also set in an apartment block. This Spanish gem has a great cast, especially the lead 'Luis Tosar' who plays his part superbly, filling you with an ever increasing sense of unease and shock at what you're witnessing. It's very beautifully shot too, making the most of it's apartment block setting. By the end of the film I was left thinking "this could actually happen".

It's by far one of the creepiest, most twisted tales I've had the pleasure of watching in a long time.

    Highly recommended!
