Watched this on a flight on Cathy Pacific into Sydney. Really, quite enjoyed it and I was surprised how much. Not too intellectual and easy to watch. I have done some research to discover the female lead as relatively big name in Japanese cinema, mostly in what might be called rom-com genre. I asked for the DVD for my next birthday and for my daughter to make sure this version had sub-titles. Well, she did as much I could ask, but sadly the sub-titles were only in Japanese! Silly me! I would certainly try another Japanese film like this again on a flight.
Just caught this on an old-time digital channel. Liked the idea of the Dutch policeman and his long-suffering wife, trying to enjoy a weekend in London but getting caught up in murder. Interesting to see the attitudes of the English police to the victim and way Barry Foster's character has to get involved. Liked the location stuff in London suburbs and central London. I agree with another reviewer that the London coppers are made to look comedically stupid. But, that just makes things more enjoyable.
Like the general format and the question categories are good. But are all UK tv people really that bad at maths and geography? They can't place any city/country on a map beyond the ones bordering the Atlantic. But, some are really good at answer smash, which I fail at miserably. I don't see the host as annoying, I see him an enabler, perhaps.
