I cannot believe the positive reception of this complete and utter nonsense.
Anyone who can be engaged with the children's drama level of writing and dialogue cannot be a fan of the original two movies.
The xenomorph, is now reduced to popping up uninvited to say a quick hello, smash some humans apart, (should they not be held as hosts?) before being somehow dispatched, ready for the next suspense devoid appearance.
This is not Alien, the stakes are completely absent. I do not care about a single member of the entire cast. How is this possible?
Effects are high quality, though everything is out in the open. Say goodbye to any intrigue.
This is an awful show that still feels as if to opposing scripts were thrown together into Chat GPT.

Childish script and plot, characters who are not only badly written but also terribly acted. The only saving graces are a few decent, well choreographed fight sequences. But even they have several moments of cringe, when humour is attempted.
It's an embarrassing attempt all round, and an absolute waste of time.

An extremely difficult movie to rate, the appeal to Mario fans, uninitiated kids and adults could vary wildly.
The opening act is packed full of Easter eggs for the fans, some subtle, some glaring but all well received. I chuckled out loud at many of them and smiled to myself throughout.
The second act ramps up further, adds more larger than life characters and locations that are all superbly handled.
The final act is more predictable, and follows a tried and tested kids film formula but it keeps pace with what's gone before.
Lots of eye candy for little ones and it looks captivating on the big screen.
The entire film is absolutely charming, beautifully made with lots of heart.
Some plot points hinge on a knowledge of Mario lore that could confuse some and could lower the rating.
As a Mario fan it's a solid 7 all day.
