Another case of a film adding too much at an attempt to create an interesting story, but falling flat, and far below the level of its predecessor. The director changed, the voice actor for Fear changed, and the writers changed.
I didn't find this film that funny, and it really felt rushed. Again, too much going on which ends up failing to make it interesting.
I couldn't understand a word Ennui was saying, and I didn't get Embarrassment. The whole movie focused on Anxiety taking control, which really ended up just getting annoying by the end.
Unfortunately, doesn't have the magic or repeat value as the first one.

This movie was very well-made and intelligently written. Major compliments to the story writers. I didn't see much inconsistency. There may have been one or two places where it dragged, but not for very long.
It has some sad moments, hilarious moments, and some thoughtful moments.
Music was top-notch. Voice performances were great!
The level of detailing was phenomenal. The overall ending premise was very smart.
The "GIRL" alert at the end was hilarious!!
I also liked how the film showed the parents' emotions were all working together, keeping the parents grounded to help their kid's emotions get in sync somehow. The fact the film showed the mother's emotions being lead by sadness, and the father's emotions being lead by anger, but all of the emotions were working together and in control...It was so well done.

Director or the writers failed on character development and just put a whole bunch of cliched, flat, one-dimensional characters in an equally flat story. At least in Independence Day, there was some character development and one walked away with the likable characters in mind. Even with inevitable disaster coming their way, one doesn't seem to care about the main characters, no matter how good or bad the acting performances are.
This could have been much better if there was some focus put on the character development versus all the visual effects spectacle of climate disasters. Visual effects looked good, but that's about all that worked for this film.
