Anyone with taste in music, aged 30 to 40, and has ever been to a football match, simply MUST watch this film. Engaging story, atmospheric setting, good performances and a cracking soundtrack. Shouldn't need to say any more than that really. Stephen Graham has a presence even in this small role, and the man is surely the 'one to watch' of all the UK's aspiring actors. This film is almost a rocumentary of life on and off the terraces for anyone who had any experience of the lives being portrayed, or even for anyone who's remotely interested in them... Stylish but gritty, frightening yet funny, it's got a bit of everything, and will be on my DVD shelf as soon as it comes out. Well worth a trip to the cinema, away from the usual soulless Hollywood pap. Ten out of ten for sure.

This film is a very welcome break from big-budget silly pseudo gangster nonsense like Rocknrolla or the usual vacuous Hollywood fare that we've come to expect. With a refreshingly understated narration by the ever impressive Neil Fitzmaurice, the film is mostly a flashback, which makes you want to keep watching until the whole thing is 'resolved'. Good performances all the way through, the low budget is not too apparent, and there are some very memorable scenes, without the film trying to hard to impress. I would say that this film is well worth adding to your collection, and it's even watchable with your girlfriend, as its strengths are in the plot and atmosphere, rather than macho antics or mindless violence. After it's over, you are left thinking about it, which doesn't always happen with this kind of production. SEE IT!

Seriously, this is my favourite film - and I'm a 'buff'. It makes a mockery of Hollywood when there isn't a single paid actor in this film and yet the performances are utterly absorbing and easily more convincing than those you usually get from so called 'stars of the screen'. The plot draws you into a disturbingly realistic world of Scouse gangsters and the situations they get themselves into. I've made a lot of my friends watch this film, and even the ones who need subtitles still find that it gets under their skin, and they end up asking to borrow it to show THEIR friends, too. All I can say without spoiling the plot is WATCH THIS FILM and see how this kind of drama should be made - You won't regret it!
