I want to start by saying the animated trilogy rank alongside my favourite films. Possibly ever. I watched these with my daughter when she very little so they hold a special place in my heart for me. They are all a masterclass of writing.
I was very worried about this film when it was announced. The track record for live action adaptations of beloved animated films is not a good one.
The more I read about and the more snippets I saw I started to believe this one would actually be half decent.
So much like we'd done several thousand times before. Me and my daughter sat down in the cinema to watch How To Train Your Dragon. Only this time, it was real (well, live action).
Nothing could have prepared me for how I felt watching this. I knew everything that would happen but still felt like I was watching it for the first time. We both sat and watched, grinned from ear to ear and sat blubbing at all the right moments.
This is how you do a live action remake. Stay truthful to the source material. Get actors in that can act and don't try to reinvent the wheel.
I absolutely loved this and I will probably watch this as many times with my daughter as the original animated one.

After having sped my way through the last nearly 7 full seasons,I was not expecting to be so moved by this episode. Wow!
This was so well written and was genuinely moving.

I loved the first one. Loved it.
This one was just really disappointing.
Not really what else I can say on this.
Meh, just very meh!
