It took a while, but man oh man did it finally get there. You can argue that the series has taken a tad too long to get moving but this episode absolutely delivers and lacks a major punch. You want Pennywise? You get Pennywise. You wanted more violence and intensity? You get all of that. This is the episode us fans have been waiting for and it goes far and above. From open to close, this episode has it all.
Anybody that's not a brain dead fan of the games that's going to love the movie no matter what's produced can admit that the first film was not exactly the best. In fact the first film is just flat out terrible. Horrendous script and god awful directing. Well not much has changed at all with the sequel. The movie is just really bad. It felt as if they wanted to appeal to an adult crowd while also clearly appealing to children because for whatever reason a movie based off a game of animatronics killing kids somehow pertains to that crowd. The PG-13 violence is one thing but man that script is just freaking awful. It felt as if Blumhouse knew its 10 year old crowd would eat up no matter what they threw our way and it clearly shows. There is 0 effort put into the script. Abby has got to be the most annoying character in the history of film. The story never really clicks and focuses more on the Easter eggs of the game rather than establishing anything at all. I was excited to see McKenna Grace, Matthew Lillard and Skeet Ulrich and none of them appear longer than a glorified cameo. The movie's have so much potential and they do absolutely nothing at all with it and truthfully with how the game fans react to these films I'm going to assume the trend will continue with the third film. Good god these two films are just awful.
