Most people would be hoping "Together" was a gross David Cronenberg style body horror. But i was hoping it would be either scary, have a deeper meaning, or be over the top funny. Unfortunately It's not really any of those.
The movie was maybe spoiled by the trailer (which gave way too much away) or maybe I was just expecting too much from the hype. But there wasn't really all that much too it. It was a slow burn that built up to some half baked ideas that it could have taken further.
Its really not scary at all for a horror, and was actually more laughable than creepy when it tried to be. It wasn't even all that gross for a body horror either. A bit of a letdown.

I honestly can't believe the mixed reviews "happy gilmore 2" has as its absolutely terrible. A comedy that knows its bad so tries to cover up the fact with celebrity cameo after celebrity cameo. Netflix really has this sequel stuck in the rough.
The original "happy gilmore" wasn't perfect but was quotable and funny with villain Shooter McGavin stealing the show. This sequel has a few laughs but is mostly just one cringe moment after another. The endless cameos ruin the movie, as I had no idea who half of them were, and they all get their random scene to make some joke I didn't get.
The movie also desperately throws in endless callbacks to remind you its a sequel and not just cameo city. But the worst part is that they really don't know what to do with the legendary Christopher McDonald as Shooter McGavin.

I wasn't expecting much from this reboot. Despite some positive reviews I think of the original naked guns as untouchable, i wasn't sold on the trailer and friends of mine had told me it was awful. But I don't agree. It's actually quite good.
I was originally on board with Liam Neeson being the new Leslie Neilson. Seeing as he could totally pull off the saying something stupid with a straight face thing. But those bad trailers made it look like it wasn't working. When watching the movie though and it's joke after joke after joke, it does work. They really capture the appeal of the older movies, and you will be laughing alot if you like stupid films.
Of course it was never going to be as good as those classics though, and as it goes on less and less jokes land. One montage sequence is particularly weird and it starts getting a little desperate recycling old jokes later. Though the very end has a nice homage to the original "Police squad."
