  • The most unromantic movie, but yet funny in all the wrong places...

I finally saw this stinker after hearing so much about it and it does deserve the bad reviews it's received.I don't mind romantic movies,as long as the two leads have chemistry, but Travolta and Tomlin have none.I know how Tomlin got cast and that was because her partner wrote and directed it,but still,Tomlin is no romantic lead.A great comedienne, but not a romantic actress by a long shot..A couple of scenes made me laugh and that was when Strip said he felt "cheap" when Trish just wanted to have sex with no commitment. How many guys would say they felt "cheap"? And the other one was when Strip got all upset when he told Trish he loved her,but she didn't say it back to him.He ran off like a baby that didn't get what he wanted..I kept thinking that Travolta's sister Ellen looks a little bit like Lily and the sex scenes between John and Lily seemed a little weird...If you're going to make a romantic movie, make sure it has passion and make sure it has depth. This has neither one...In real life,Strip would never be attracted to Trish,so the movie is implausible for that alone..The reviews speak for themselves and the critics were right, but I guess this could be considered a camp classic and a guilty pleasure,so maybe that's all it deserves to be and nothing more..

  • Money wasted....

Gross.Stupid.Annoying...and that describes the main character as well as the movie itself.I don't know who the idiot was that gave the green light on this pile of crap, but they should never work in movies again. An embarrassment for Rip Torn,Anthony Michael Hall and Julie Hagerty.I just hope they got a pretty good paycheck out of this..The movie is a series of unfunny/gross/childish slapstick and sight gags thought of by the star and director(if you call him either one of those)Tom Green..It deserved all of its Golden Turkey Award wins and thankfully,Mr.Green has never directed another movie again..I have never wanted to strangle a character like I did in the first few minutes and have never wanted a character to fail or get beaten up either.Maybe that was the point.I don't know..I'd rather watch "Manos, the Hands of Fate" or a Coleman Francis movie instead..Listen,Tom Green, just because you think you can direct and write a movie or even act in a movie, does not mean you should,OK?

  • pathetic..

This guy is just telling you his opinions and there's no scientific fact of what he's talking about. He's probably just jealous when he sees black women with white guys because they don't want him. He's trying to convince others and make them believe what he does, since he doesn't agree with dating outside your race.I say,GET OVER IT! Listen, just because you date or marry outside your race doesn't mean you're going to FORGET your race and no one make you FORGET your race, right? And if you do,then that's the person's fault. Not the other person. If this guy is SO concerned about being black, then maybe he should try helping those young black men who are getting into trouble and possibly going to jail.Provide some kind of job program instead of lining his pockets with this video.Maybe he should help other blacks in finding a job or getting off of welfare or doing drugs;the list goes on.If this guy was really serious about helping his race, then he wouldn't do it with something like this.Love is love and it doesn't have a color.I should say,it doesn't have one color. If someone is truly honest and sincere about who they're in love with, then more power to them.Let's face it,all races are stuck on this earth and we're going to have to learn to get along with one another,so let's make the most of it as we can,OK? Maybe if we all dated outside our race, then maybe we would have a better understanding of one another and quit being so ignorant..
