A producer of a film, Morley Brightner (Reid Shelton)is found shot to death in a locked room at Warwick Studios. Magician and creative advisor Alexander "Alex" Blacke (Hal Linden), investigates alongside his father, Leonard, to solve the seemingly impossible murder.
Well, not a totally impossible murder to solve when Alexander Blacke and his father is on the case, but it's difficult enough and the mystery is quite enjoyable, thanks to an array of suspects, ranging from an aging diva to a hotshot, self obsessed leading actor - quite an engaging episode. Added plus: I just love murder mysteries on a movie set and the in-fights between actors and producers when the camera isn't rolling is amusing. The locked door mystery element is real neat - nice revelation.

Alex and Leonard are stranded in the small town of Cryerville, California and use their magic skills to prevent a group of thieves from perpetrating an elaborate hoax. The hoax involves invisible mystery of lights in the night sky which makes people its aliens landing- next minute the folk vanish ...
There's a good cast in this episode with Robert Fuller playing a sheriff who winds up the local doctor- Kathleen Lloyd- and naturally their feeling thaw to one other. It's a well paced episode, fun and the two leads got great chemistry and there's some touching scenes too.

Von Schwabing is on the carpet at the German Embassy over the mess he made of the plot to destroy the British/Russian Peace Alliance described in 'Fellowship Of The Black Stone'. He swears that The Fellowship Of The Black Stone will be successful this time in its intention to eliminate Britain's First Sea Lord, Sir James West, whose armament of Great Britain is faster than Germany's.
Von Schwabing sets out to enlist Richard Hannay as an unwilling assassin of Sir James West. Hannay is kidnapped and finds himself upon what appears to be a sea-going vessel.
Using a young schoolgirl, who is in reality the Russian Grand-Duchess Madeline, Von Schwabing applies relentless pressure to Hannay who is put into a terrible moral dilemma. He must choose between the life of one of his best friends, Saunders, a member of Intelligence, and that of the Grand-duchess Madeline. Further he is railroaded by Von Schwabing into either killing Sir James West or letting Madeline die.
An entertaining episode which features a complex plot involving kidnapping and assassination - it all starts when a young girl pleads for him to help her as she believes that someone wants to kidnap her. There's enough twist and turns, though middle part does sag a bit.
