Leonard Blacke (Harry Morgan), under the guise of a different name, is recruiting investors to finance a group of young treasure hunters in search for an old sunken galleon. They find it but as soon as they do, it floats up and goes away. Murder and intrigue follows ...
Ghost ship galleon, vanishing treasure underwater, treasure hunting, murder, and Leonard Blacke up to his tricks again as he uses his "skills" to get some investors to back up two young treasure hunters in the search of a lost treasure. He believes in dreamers and making some dinero on the side. Like his chemistry with his magician son, which is one of the attractions of this solid show. It's a decent yarn, nice setting of boats and docks, and a good twist at the end.

A producer of a film, Morley Brightner (Reid Shelton)is found shot to death in a locked room at Warwick Studios. Magician and creative advisor Alexander "Alex" Blacke (Hal Linden), investigates alongside his father, Leonard, to solve the seemingly impossible murder.
Well, not a totally impossible murder to solve when Alexander Blacke and his father is on the case, but it's difficult enough and the mystery is quite enjoyable, thanks to an array of suspects, ranging from an aging diva to a hotshot, self obsessed leading actor - quite an engaging episode. Added plus: I just love murder mysteries on a movie set and the in-fights between actors and producers when the camera isn't rolling is amusing. The locked door mystery element is real neat - nice revelation.

There's a good cast in this episode with Robert Fuller playing a sheriff who winds up the local doctor- Kathleen Lloyd- and naturally their feeling thaw to one other. It's a well paced episode, fun and the two leads got great chemistry and there's some touching scenes too.
