Just found out about Marva Collins yesterday and finished watching the movie today. Cicely Tyson gives an excellent portrayal. Morgan Freeman is great as well. I was really impressed by how Mrs. Collins disciplined the students with patience, love and grace.

This movie undoubtedly should be required viewing by all educators. It demonstrates what care can do and how children thrive when they are given the love and attention they deserve.

The most surprising thing is how much time the film dedicated showing the teacher in the classroom teaching instead of running around fighting government officials, etc.

I'm a huge fan of Kelly Rowland and am happy to see her on the screen. However, she deserves to be in a movie with a better script. It was embarrassing to watch. Very poor writing. I respect Tyler's hustle game and how he's lifted himself from humble beginnings. By now though, he should be putting out movies with much higher quality writing, etc. This film was terrible.

Obviously, it was an absolute dream to see Kelly in a film. Some of the other characters were attractive as well. The film looked nice and stylish. However, the film is a very unbalanced erotic thriller with a number of scenes that were too over the top.

Looking to see Kelly in a better film!!!

This movie deserves a much higher rating. The fight scenes are good, but the story line and the complexity residing therein kept me interested. There is also a spiritual element. It was an honor to take my daughter to see this film, and she loved it.

I was familiar with the Kingdom of Dahomey but knew nothing of the female warriors. I thought this movie was about Queen Nzingha, but I was wrong. I had the pleasure of visiting Cotonou Benin and toured the museum dedicated to this great kingdom. The tour guide was extremely proud and now I know more about why he was.

I'm going to see this movie again this weekend.
