In the original it was a 2-Hour movie that launched the series, Sam entered the accelerator chamber because Project Quantum Leaps funding was threatened. Scott Bakula and Dean Stockwell gave the series class and you were personally invested in their adventures week after week. Every story in the first season was well laid out and perfectly cast. The same could be said for season two through five and it came as a huge surprise when the show was cancelled by NBC in 1993. Season five had a lot of two part and three part episodes to save NBC money...Donald P. Bellisario has said that Quantum Leap is his favorite series. I can understand that Scott Bakula in the original was basically in every scene for five seasons and was basically exausted by the end of the series.
It would have been preferrable if NBC had produced a two hour movie to wrap everything up and bring Sam Home, why not?? He made it home once and never returned..
Enter the new series for me it was like watching **The Flash** on steroids it was fast paced and moved too quickly.. The original gave you a deliberately paced show that didn't rush you through the stories. This Quantum Leap is run like a business, where the original seemed to have a limited staff.
No spoilers in this review, but I don't see this show having a long life
You also don't care that the new protagonist and his hologram are in these dilemma's...
Why is it that all these reboots fall flat!!
MacGyver, Hawaii Five-O, Magnum P. I, they are all pale imitations of the originals!!
Two episodes in and What a DUD!!
I would have to say that this series will die very soon!!
Did the new ahowrunners ever watch the original ??

Who is the douche that only gave this episode two stars?? This was an interesting third season episode that broke the usual storylines that Irwin Allen was known for..Creature episodes.. In the 1960's hippie subculture permeated every part of the entertainment industry. I first saw this episode as a young child..It is still great!!
This episode starts off with Spenser, Susan and Frank Belson coming back from a Boston Sporting event and something bad happens, Father Mike who feathures prominently in this Episode loses another child to drug dealers, he befriends Champ who is one of his rescues. Later Spensers friend Charlie Moon dies, which triggers flashbacks to when he lived in Wyoming, later in the episodes he goes home to visit his Father and pay respects to his friend..Note: Don't listen to SandCRab reviews..I have been tripping over his bad reviews for twenty years!!
