I'll admit I didn't have high expectations for this movie, but I watched the entire thing and was mostly bored and occasionally annoyed. I've seen a lot of old horror movies, and honestly can't recall being this bored. Bram Stoker's novel, by the way, is written as a series of letters, and in its own way is also boring -- but this movie makes it even more boring. There's an opening sequence showing a ship in violent storm at sea with amazing special effects for the time period, but the rest of the movie is dull, flat, boring, and about as scary as watching grass grow. How anyone considers this a "horror classic" is beyond me.
