Compared to the other School series this is the weakest. The pace is slow. 16 episodes was way too many. Hardly anything happens for long periods. Nothing new to add to the genre. Secrets and little misunderstandings take too long to resolve. The actors stare morosely at each other for long periods. Cliched evil rich lady controlling the school and perpetrating injustices. One dimensional. The main protagonists are not endearing until much later. Violent angry guy who blames his friend for an accident. Stone faces main guy. Insipid female leads. One with a chip on her shoulder and the other a bit annoyingly chirpy. The conflicted teacher is more interesting.
It's an opportunity to see Choo Young Woo and Kim Yo Han before they got more famous. The former looks too mature to play a student.
Don't bother with this show - it is an unnecessary addition to the school series.

This show is about singers in an agency. The cast kept me watching this show. You like them and care what happens.
The story is sometimes contrived and cliched. But the plot devices though familiar work to keep the viewer engaged and entertained. The scandals are actually quite realistic sadly prophetic of Kim Soo Hyun's recent troubles. Because of the 16 hour format there are some unnecessary scenes in the last 2 episodes. 12 would have sufficed.
The cast is better than the story. Ji Hyun Woo is quite funny and charming as he always is. He plays the guitar and sings because he is a real life musician. His voice is not that great. Jung eun ji has a strong singing voice but some songs sings aren't nice. Trot songs are hit and miss melody wise. Lee Se Young is a great antagonist. You can see the potential for future stardom. Shin Seung Rok is so funny they even make fun of his eyes in the show. Too bad he doesn't sing more since he is the best singer in real life.
Ok but not a must watch.

Something is off about this show. You have to watch it to see what is wrong. It's like an XO Kitty version of Korean action drama. This series made me appreciate how good the proper K dramas are. When Hollywood mixes up with K drama in this show it doesn't quite work out. Basically the problem is an awkward story but the K drama actors are great.
The best thing about this series is when the Korean actors come on screen and how good they are. The lovely Kim Tae Hee, the super villain Kim Ji Hoon and even a cameo by Park hae Soo. So convincing. And they all have good English pronunciation in this show. The US cast is led by Daniel Dae Kim and he is fine and Reina Hardesty is pretty. Her bratty character is very un Korean maybe to show contrast. Piper Perabo is a bit miscast. Her weak and puny British son is rather unintentionally amusing.
The fault is the awkward and amateurish screenplay. The first part is quite exciting. And it's something different to have a father daughter fighting team. Quite scary when he is on the run with 3 women his daughters and wife. Then the story starts to get weak. The soul searching and bonding between father and daughter is strained and repetitive. They try to add emotional aspect to the story that you find in K drama but it doesn't integrate well here. The story regarding the mercenary organization and his leaving it is unconvincing and feels cliched and the takedown is too obviously spelt out but at least it isn't confusing just weak.
Also some fight sequences feel a bit slow and too obviously stunt double work. Poor directing. Usually I don't care about such things but it's just glaringly obvious here.
Strange thing they had FBI uniformed staff in Seoul. Thought FBI was domestic only not foreign. Should've been CIA since it was Seoul and they won't wear uniforms with their organization on it.
This show is not bad it just is not as good as expected. Writing is just amateurish and not slick enough. Shouldn't have ended on a cliffhanger. Just should have ended things this season.
