This is the kind of documentary movie you want to watch it in the theater.. don't wait for DVD, watch it NOW while it's still in theater. Just relax, enjoy breathtaking view, free yourself from Hollywood special effects or thinking too much about why the plot is so stupid. I recommend front seat than back seat so you can feel 'immersed' into the ocean. I like this movie because 1)the camera work is amazing 2) it covers almost every part of the world's ocean; from Artic, Galapagos, to small but high diversity place in Indonesia sea. 3)It's not over-narrated, nor highly political ambitious. Even tough the narration is less informative and sounds a bit strange because it is translated from French, but I believe the stunning visual needs less speech. I saw few kids not really enjoying the movie and left before it's over, probably because it's too sleepy for them, but hey, your kids can experienced more than Hollywood bullshit for a while.

Well, I like the new experiences of 3D. I like the trees, I like the creatures, I like that the sky that looks real... I enjoy flying scenes, I really like the jelly fish alike creature, I like to watch how they seem to be dancing around me while I am sitting on my seat eating popcorn and drink shakes.

Okay, It's a breakthrough in animation technology. Hmm.. but what about the story and characters? The Villain = military = anti environment = stupid destroyers. wow. we saw that in 37625 movies before. Love story = soldier fall in love with the natives/ enemy = cheesy dialog. do you still remember other 5847 movies tell the same things before Avatar?

Like: Simply unique and original story. Most Indonesian or Hollywood movie makers trying so hard to make story with sophisticated characters and overly dramatic plot, which became too unrealistic. But I really appreciate this movie's idea about ordinary person with unpopular job with simple mission. It's simple but not cliché, and doesn't make us less care about the character. Totally breakthrough in the story and main character.

Dislikes: The script/dialog is very intelligent and funny, but then it's WEIRD because why should remarkable, intelligent quotes come from EVERY characters; including small children...?? It's definitely not real. It is like all of the characters has scriptwriter's mind. Everyone talk fast, but in reality not everyone talks at the same pace, especially not everyone is fast in witty jokes like the scriptwriter!! If only every character were more developed with different mind, different accent, and different way/pace of talking, that would be more realistic.

The time line is also confusing. It's not make sense that Joni had all of those unexpected things during half movie. is it 1 hour? or what? is not clear or believable.

Aside from those flaws, this is still quite enjoyable movie
